Welcome to

First United Methodist Church

of Hico, Texas

We are a casual, friendly, accepting, non-judgmental group of imperfect people from diverse backgrounds gathered together to love and serve God and all creation. We believe faith is a journey that is best navigated together in community with each other. No matter where you are in your faith travels, we invite you to come along with us as we grow in love and fullness of life through our Lord Jesus Christ.

We're at 400 W. First Street in Hico, Texas.

The Season of Lent at FUMC Hico

In keeping with ancient Christian tradition, we observe the season of Lent beginning with Ash Wednesday on February 14 with a special 7pm worship service following our Wednesday night fellowship meal. This time of reflection reminds of our physical mortality and spiritual hunger with the imposition of palm ashes in the form of a cross on the forehead. This mark also represents a seal and promise of God's unfailing love for his adopted children.

Holy week begins with Palm Sunday on March 25 followed by Maundy Thursday on March 29, Good Friday on March 30 and finally a glorious celebration of Christ's resurrection with Easter on April 1. Join us in this life changing experience.

Section Title

Serving God by Serving Others

At FUMC Hico, we are dedicated to the idea that the Kingdom of God is not only a glorious future but something we are called to represent in the now. We consider serving our community to be an important act of Worship that brings glory to God.

Sharing the Light of Christ

We believe in sharing and being the light of Jesus Christ to a dark and hurting world. Our congregation represents a wide spectrum of people from in and around the Hico, Texas, area who love God and share God's love through actions more than words.
