Pastor Don’s sermon series, “The Re-Purposed Life”, continues this Sunday leading up to the beginning of a new form of connectional ministry within our church. His sermon last Sunday was called “Pieces and Parts” and spoke of how God takes the broken pieces and parts of our lives and put them back together so that we collectively become a vital part of the Body of Christ, each with different callings and gifts. Remembering the old Wendy’s TV commercial of “Parts is Parts,” we realized that together, parts is more than parts, but parts is part of a new creation! Also Sunday we learned about the Lydia Patterson Institute of El Paso as an important United Methodist ministry that provided a solid education for those living in extreme poverty on both side of the border. Our communion offering raised over $800 to help create scholarships for the school. Thank you! Speaking of school, this Sunday we honor and commission graduating students and all the volunteers from our church who serve in Children’s and Youth ministries. Sunday the 19th we have a church-wide lunch after worship to learn more about our new “Connection Crews.”

April 2019 News

Easter was such a glorious day! The entire season was special. Thank you to the many people who joined us for both the somber and celebratory parts of the Easter season. Maundy Thursday we remembered Jesus' sharing a meal with his disciples that we now call Communion. Good Friday we remember the somber sacrifice our Savior made and the reality of His physical death. Easter morning we celebrated Jesus' victory over death through his resurrection! We started with a Sunrise Service at 7am outside with live  music and a short message about the discovery of an empty tomb. Thank you to all the community who joined us and stayed for a fantastic breakfast!  There was a full sanctuary for our 10:50 worship service that included flowering the cross, our choir's Easter Cantata and a short message from Pastor Don. After Easter we begin a new sermon series on “The Re-Purposed Life.” As new creations in Christ, we each have unique gifts from God to be used for the building of his Kingdom on earth. Let’s explore those gifts and calling together.
