Rob Grant - Pastor

  I was born and raised in Savannah GA. I have a BA in English from Georgia College & State University in Milledgeville GA. God brought me to the United Methodist Church through the campus Wesley Foundation. When I got there, God said to me “you are home.” For the remainder of my time in college the Wesley was my home. It was a

large part of my college experience, and I was a student leader from the beginning of my time there. As I approached graduation, I knew that God had been preparing me for the work of ministry.

  I joined the United Methodist Church in February of 2000 and I served as an intern at that Wesley Foundation for a year after I graduated. I then went to Asbury Theological Seminary in Wilmore Kentucky. I earned my Master of Divinity there. Also, while in seminary, I met and fell in the love with a tenacious Texan from Fort Worth. Erin and I

married in 2004, And we began serving churches in Mississippi in 2007.  We served there from 2007 to 2022. I was ordained an elder in June of 2014. Erin was ordained an elder in June of 2015. We have three wonderful children: two daughters and a one son.

  I have a passion for preaching and teaching the word of God to all ages.  I have a heart for hands-on ministry. I love reaching beyond the local church by being connected to the community.  I have ministered in disaster relief and in our local community Food pantry.  I continue in my love for campus ministry and have participated on campus boards and Conference boards pertaining to that.

  I enjoy reading, and movies. But most especially, spending time with my family.  To that purpose, we will occasionally engage in a family movie night or game night. Even while we were serving in Mississippi, we stayed connected to Texas. We attend Family Camp at Glen Lake every year as a time of refreshing and renewal. I am also

the pastor of the First United Methodist Church in Iredell, Texas.
